Description

The Shimano BR-M8220 XT Trail Brake Upgrade Kit combines the alloy BL-M8200 brake lever with the BR-M8220 four-piston calliper for maximum power, consistency, and control. The lever has been refined with evolved ergonomics and the human hand in mind, delivering a powerful pull with consistent lever feel and modulation for ultimate control. The four-piston, two-piece BR-M8220 calliper is the strongest in the M8200 family, made to maximise power, consistency, and control. New, low viscosity oil keeps the M8220 brakes' bite point consistent in all trail and weather conditions, and new brake pads eliminate rattling noise caused by vibration.

Brake Lever Features (BL-M8200)

  • Calliper customisation - pair the BL-M8200 with the M8220 Enduro calliper for maximum stopping power and control in rough terrain, or the M8200 XC callipers for a more weight-conscious set-up
  • Consistent brake control - smooth SERVO WAVE action optimises the power curve and manages pad-to-rotor friction throughout the lever pull for better balanced braking, while new low viscosity mineral oil keeps power consistent over a wider range of temperatures
  • Durability - BL-M8200's alloy lever blade utilises Shimano's tried and true stamping process
  • Evolved ergonomics - new lever shapes and pivot points and improved reach adjust make the BL-M8220 a comfortable fit for all types of riders
  • Tidy cable routing - updated cable routing on the BL-M8200 creates a clean aesthetic

  • Updated seals and low viscosity oil - a reliable bite point in all temperatures and trail conditions
